Unlocking performance and efficiency gains in AI, image, and signal processing

To meet the growing demands of edge AI and IoT applications, Swiss semiconductor company Synthara AG needed a highly efficient, scalable solution for integrating custom accelerators into RISC-V CPUs. By adopting the CV32E20X core and CV-X-IF interface developed by OpenHW, Synthara built a co-processor that extends the instruction set without modifying the CPU pipeline. This case study explores how the team leveraged in-memory computing and open standards to deliver efficient, low-power solutions for next-generation devices.
